Vision Statement

Vision Statement“These who have turned the world upside down have come here too…saying there is another King and his name is Jesus.”

Acts 17:6-7

The early church “turned their world upside down” for Christ by going outside the comfort of the church walls to bring the message of Christ to the world around them.  We want to do the same; to turn our community upside down by turning the church inside out!

Last year, we wetted your appetites for large group event type ministries; (like Friend Day; Easter Egg Hunt; VBS Carnival, ect.) This year we need to narrow our focus toward smaller groups of people that we are able to make connections with.  We intend to do this through the following narrowly focused ministries:

  • Upside-Down Saturdays –  In order to fulfill the mission of turning the church inside out into the community; we need to organize ourselves to spend 2 Saturdays a month from 10:00am to 12:00pm visiting all the contacts we’ve made in the 2012-13 year.  Our hope is to bring the love of Christ and his gospel to those who need to hear it.

  • Inside-Out Church – We want to begin an active ministry to the apartment complexes of Vernon beginning with one that is two blocks from the church.  There is a great need for a ministry to kids and a single mom’s ministry on that campus.

  • Life Groups – We want to establish evangelistic small groups to which you can invite your neighbors to hear the gospel.

  • Mission Trips  (Brazil, Ecuador, Namibia)

There is also an opportunity to help a missionary in New Orleans who works with women and young girls who have been ravaged by human trafficking.

Help us tell the world what our Mission is this year!
